Well...had the same problem myself. Had to use a 4 inch piece of pipe to shim it up. The only problem is that when you get the spring out and you try to remove the compressor, the spring will still have a little tension on it. I stood on the spring, and finished loosening the nut till it popped. Sprung out about a half an inch. Didn't kill anyone. Good luck.
