If I was you, what I would do is
A: get bushings made that will be press fit over the existing bolts
B: take your block to the machine shop and have larger holes drilled and tapped in it, if the blots dont get into the cooloing system then I would suggest plan B
: I messed up the last post and now i will hear heck about it.
: Your going the other way. Duh Mark. Go to a bolt shop and buy
: tapered bolts about a buck each. Get the hardened bolts of course.
: here is how to get the right bolts.
: 1. Stick the 3/8 bolt through the 302 head and measure how much sticks out.
: Add about 1/8 inch to that. This give you how much 3/8th thread you need.
: 2. Stick the 7/16 bolt through the 351 head and measure how much sticks out.
: Add about 1/8 inch to that and subtract that legth from the total bolt length.
: This gives you how much 7/16 bolt you need.
: The 1/8 inch is play and it is better to have a little because your heads may need
: to be machined
: 3 Take these lenghts to a bolt shop and get the tapered bolts with the closest
: measurements. remember not to get and bolt with more 7/16 than the measurement
: from 2 above.
