Your problem may be swapped vacuum lines from the dual distributor. Check this routing: one hose should run from the carb base to the outboard nipple on the vacuum advance unit (advance). The other line should run from the intake manifold to the inboard nipple (retard). If the vacuum advance line is connected to the intake manifold, rather than the carb base, you will get great power up to about 1000 rpm. Above that, you will feel the engine holding back. Be sure the lines are not cracked. Hope that helps.

: I am having not one , but, two problems, both maybe one in the same, #1, i just got the car, about 4 months ago, and the vacumm lines are all screwed up, and, i cant find a diagram anywhere, to put them back the right way. #2 when driving, just the other night, the car wont run properly, the engine revs fine, but, the output of is not right, (goes 0 -55 in just under 2 mins, heh he) not sure why that is, but, we did change the tranny, with a diff tranny that had a shift kit in it, but, we could not get on of the bolts off the tourqe converter, so, we left it on, could this be the problem ? any help would be appreciated, thanks
