I just went through the painting nightmare. Made the shop repaint the car three times. Still not the way I want it. Was without my car for a total of about 8 months
Here is some advice:
1) Check out the shop: Better Business Bureau, ask to talk to former customers. Are most of the employees former convicts/dopers/drunks? How clean is the shop. What kind of equipment is used?
2) Get a written estimate that notes exactly when the car will be finished and what exactly will be done. ie type of paint, coats of clear, finish sanding grit.
3) warranty in writing
4) If you want a good paint job, you have to pay for it. Don't be in a rush to pick someone.

You can see the results of my car in the photo section or on the AutoKrafters catalog.

Good Luck
MicahKev
