On the steering gear box there is an adjustment that can be made to take out some of the play in the steering. I am not sure what it is called (worm gear??), and I am not really sure how to adjust it...maybe someone else can chime in here and help.

: Finished it about a week and 1/2 ago. Let the local Good Year do the allignment ($30.40). Man does it ever handle better. With the exception of getting the wrong ball joints and having to grind off the original ones (The more I get into this car the more I'm convinced that the odometer might not have been rolled over yet) it wasn't too hard. I still have some play in the steering so I'm sure I need to look into the steering box for that one. The steering is not powered or power assisted. There's only about 5-10 degrees of play in the steering so it's not critical. Now I get to start work on the motor. Since I drive this car daily I think I'll have to either buy another motor to re-build or to use while I re-build this one. Either way I end up with an extra motor. If I can't find a motor in better condition than this one I could rebuild that one first as practice and then use it while I re-build this one. Or vice versa if I find one in better condition.
