: : Yes, the C-4 will handle the 351W fine. The shock/spring towers will need to be cut back and re-welded or you will have trouble fitting exhaust manifolds/headers in it. You also won't be able to change spark plugs without this modification...

: : : Hi. Don'y know if any of you remember me from last summer, but...I'm baaaack! Took a leave of abscence to raise $$$ for upgrading. Anyway, here's the deal: I'm going to try to stuff a 351W into a 74 Comet. 1)Will the C4 taka them extra torque? My donor car was a 77 Mav 302, which had an engine that would cost so much to whip into shape that the 351W is a cheaper option. And 2)I have read here that modifications are necessary to the engine compartment. What modifications specifically and, most importantly, what is the cost of having this done?

: I,ve been here and there. It seems no matter how much I think I am overestimating the cost of repairs, the actaul cost always takes me by surprise. I was disappointed that this swap was not going to be finished last summer (due to costs) and had to get away from it a bit. Started doing some political cartooning, caught up on some reading... Anyway, the 250 is coughing up about a quart of oil a day and that put some urgency into the swap. I hope to paint it this summer and be "done" and maybe send you all pictures.
