: Yes, the C-4 will handle the 351W fine. The shock/spring towers will need to be cut back and re-welded or you will have trouble fitting exhaust manifolds/headers in it. You also won't be able to change spark plugs without this modification...

: : Hi. Don'y know if any of you remember me from last summer, but...I'm baaaack! Took a leave of abscence to raise $$$ for upgrading. Anyway, here's the deal: I'm going to try to stuff a 351W into a 74 Comet. 1)Will the C4 taka them extra torque? My donor car was a 77 Mav 302, which had an engine that would cost so much to whip into shape that the 351W is a cheaper option. And 2)I have read here that modifications are necessary to the engine compartment. What modifications specifically and, most importantly, what is the cost of having this done?

I,ve been here and there. It seems no matter how much I think I am overestimating the cost of repairs, the actaul cost always takes me by surprise. I was disappointed that this swap was not going to be finished last summer (due to costs) and had to get away from it a bit. Started doing some political cartooning, caught up on some reading... Anyway, the 250 is coughing up about a quart of oil a day and that put some urgency into the swap. I hope to paint it this summer and be "done" and maybe send you all pictures.
