No the brakes do not have to be power-assisted but you'll need the manual master cylinder. I converted my '73 to disc brakes and the fuel line was not in the way at all. The other fun part is that with the manual master cylinder, the pushrod is longer and your stock brake pedal will be WAY too high. You'll either need a shorter pushrod from a drum-brake master cylinder or you'll have to modify a brake pedal from a manual disk brake donor car...
: I have a 73 grabber that Im fixing up. I Have replaced all of the front suspenison. I have installed the spindles,rotors,calipers from a 76 mav.I had to remount the brake lines and now i believe the gas line is not going to work.Is this true?Also do the disc have to be power?I do not have a brake booster if they dont have to be power can i use the master cyl. from the old drum brakes?
