A reputable mechanic confirmed the rear end as a
standard removable carrier unit. He told me how
easy it would be to "drop the pumpkin" if it ever
needed any real service. It turns out that my U-joints
were the culprits. I am now back on the road and
thinking about lower gears and a Posi unit ;-).
