Funny you should bring this subject up. My earlier
post today was about my success in installing a
Carter on my 302. First of all, the Carter that
is listed for a small block Ford was NOT the right
one for my 302 (auto trans)I had to send it back.
The correct carb is the small block chevy carb,
#9635 ,I'm sorry I used the "C" word. This carb has
the correct linkage hookups, almost. You also need
the Carter throttle adapter kit #3-2088. My carb,
bought from Summit Racing, came with very clear
pictures and instructions for re-connecting what
vacumn lines were needed, a "no brainer" Good Luck.

: I just bought a new Carter four bbl carb for a 302 that i'm sticking in my mav. But I've run into a few problems...bear with me this is my first build up. First, the throttle linkage connected to the old carb on the old engine like a trailer hitch...there was this little ball thing that the linkage slipped over. the problem is that there is no ball thing on the Carter carb...how do I make the connection. Second, although I will probably fiigure it out after a while, I'm having trouble figuring out where the hell all the vacuum lines need to run and how the run there...any ideas or sources of info would really...really help

: thanks
