You're on the right track; I'd also reccomend a Fluidamper harmonic balancer. It's expensive but well worth the $$. You really don't need Rhoads lifters with that cam profile but I would reccomend CompetitionCams Magnum Roller-rockers. Don't forget a good timing gear set and oil pump (standard-volume, unless you're going to use a deep-sump pan). I love my Holley but it is a pain in the ass needing constant maintainence. The Edelbrock should give you less headaches although the Holley may give a little "crispier" throttle response...
: OK, been checking out the postings and answered my questions reguarding the change over to disc brakes (I think I will just leave them manual though) Next question though, is there anything that can be done about the steering in these cars? I know it will never handle or be able to turn as sharp as well as my Escort GT, but I would like a more responsive gear box. Any ideas? Here are the specsto which I am going to re-buid the 302:
: Edelbrock Performer Intake
: Edelbrock 600cfm Carb
: 224 Duration, 484 Lift hydraulic cam
: 9.0:1 Compression ratio (forged pistons)
: 1.6 rockers
: New crank and main & rod bearing (crank kit)
: Moly push rods
: Probably use Rhoads type lifters
: MSD Ignition system
: Anyone have any other suggestions or maybe better ideas??
