Yeah...well i spoze it sounds kinda funny...i work in a body shop, i asked the other guys what they would do but they never did anything like that before...they always just sent it off to get rechromed...but yeah...i think ill try sandblasting the bumper when i get some spare time...it snowed today so i have a gut feeling i wont have much time to putz around on my own stuff :)
thanks

Brent

: Brent,

: Take a look at my black EFI Maverick on the top of page 4 in the photo gallery. I had the same situation as you - straight bumpers with lousy chrome. I couldn't see paying $275 each for re-chromed bumpers, so I had mine sandblasted by my body shop and painted to match the car. They did an excellent job and it cost a hell of a lot less than the alternative.

: Sam :)

: : Im going to be repainting my car this spring...the bumpers are rusty but straight..i was thinking of just painting them the same color as the car...i tried grinding a small area of the chrome off with a high speed disc sander with 24 grit...but all it did was scratch the shit...how do they do this when they rechrome the bumpers? sandblast it or something? i think ill try that next...
: : thanks for any info yous' might have

: : Brent
