it will make it hold the gear out longer I do believe, but the modulator valve controls the shifts primarily, you can still floor it from a stop and it will hold out until it starts to run out of air, I may be mistaken about the kickdown controling the shift points, but anyway, run without it, when you go to pass granny doin 35, you stay in drive with your foot on the floor, unless you haven't made it to drive yet. down to a certain point, the modulator valve will make it downshift, but that's pretty much only if its within a certain rpm, determined by your modulator valve.
