Hi All,

I was just sitting here nice and toasty on this Christmas day, looking out the window into the frozen landscape thinking how nice it would be to be out in the garage tinkering with a Maverick. Well, one thing lead to another and I started to envision my next project. Having conquered the EFI hurdle, I was trying to think of something to top that when it came to me. I have a ’99 F-250 Superduty as my daily driver, and I have been very pleased with the V-10 engine, so I thought why not put a V-10 in a Maverick?

I’d start with a plain-Jane car, install a Mustang II front suspension and remove the shock towers. Then I’d open up the firewall and fabricate a new trans tunnel. Last but not least would come the ubiquitous Versailles 9” rear end. The V-10 has a very tall intake, so I’d have to use some sort of hood scoop, and no, I wouldn’t cut up a Grabber hood. I’d use a plain one instead. I think the paint job would have to be something high-tech – not just ordinary red, black, blue, or white. It might have to be on the order of something pearlescent, or something close to the Mystic Cobra Mustangs that came out a few years back. The interior should probably be leather – something dark to create a mysterious aura.

Well, what does everyone think? Any ideas or suggestions? I’d welcome any input from this distinguished group of Maverick enthusiasts. Hope you all had a nice holiday!

Sam :)
