the build date makes her a 72, usually anything built after July 16th of a year goes in to the next year. Sometimes as late as Aug. 16th but not normally. The upper arms use the same type of assmebly as the Stangs do, You can use parts from a 70 Stang and they fit perfectly. Especially since they're the same.
As far as the shock towers. It's a common problem. Found a small hairline crack about 2" long on the passenger tower. Several ways to go, Completely replace them. Add new metal over the old metal and weld it one. or just reweld the ones you have now.
I just pulled the motor out to prepare new one; no problem. Started to replace upper controll arm bushings and found out that it don't take or have bushings. Two big bolts on ends, two bolts through the shaft go into shock towers. Shock towers are all cracked and busted.Two main cracks on both sides, one missing bolt hole by about an 1/8 inch. Anyone know what I'm talking about. Shock towers welds are noticeable from someones previous work on it, but breaks look much worse.
