depends on the source, from a junkyard, might be the reason it's there, $50+ bucks. They're not going to let you tear it down, clean, magnaflux it for free before you decide to buy it. It's always a gamble on parts from junkyards, but if careful you can find a good one.
If from a machine shop that has checked it out, $175 wouldn't be bad. Personally, use a good earlier 302 block 68 to 74yrs. Don't use a 289 block, less support in the skirts. I think that's why the big thing on "mexican" 302s. The skirts are longer. I don't think the "quality control" used during the casing of "Mexican" blocks was better then "US" blocks.
If you're looking for a block for heavy racing usage, go to the SVO blocks, you'll be money ahead.
