When we put the car back together we put two new gaskets on the carb, one between the heat plate and where ever the other one goes. So those are new. If the carb was worked loose would it be able to be moved. I think it is pretty tight on there though. I think they are the correct gaskets also because I had a spare enginge that we pulled the remaining gasket off of. It's really thin. So I think we are okay there, but who knows. Would rebuilding my carb be a wise thing to do or should I wait until we can determine what the problem is?

: Alison, I'm not much of an expert like a lot of the folks on this board but I will offer the experience I had with my Mav. It started acting like you describe your problem and it turned out to be a problem with the carb sealing around the base. It was sucking air so had to replace the gasket and then it ran fine. Good luck. Butch
