yes you will have to jack up the engine to get the headers in. usually you can do one side then the other. try to slide them in first before you disconect the motor mounts to jack up the engine. I used to jack my engine up to get the headers in and out and the last time I did it I just sliped them in with out jacking and they went in. So really it's a yes and no. also they will have to be put in from under the car so jack up the car as high as you can it will help, then once they are in place use a string to hold them there then drop the car back down it will be easier to put the bolts in with the car down. : I was wanting to know if anyone out there has put headers on a 1973 302 Maverick? If you have did you need to lift the engine to put the headers on? I am strugling right now getting the manifolds out I have all the bolts out and it looks like they will drop out once I have the original exhaust sysytem cut out. Any help woulf d be appreciated.
