I just converted my 6 cyl. car to a 302 , I bought a set of Hedman headers. The instructions say you may have to raise the engine 1 inch to get them in, I jacked up the car about 1 foot then slid them in under the car and they went right in without even lifting the engine at all, they went in in about 15 minutes for both sides( not all bolts tightend though). My car is a 70 , I don't know if there is that much of a difference between a 70-73, but I do not have power steering which I am sure is the reason for my ease. Now keep in mind that certain headers are not compatible with a column shift, so you may need to install a floor shifter.
