I read somewhere (I think I searched for Shelby Maverick and got a Shelby site with a little Mexican Maverick info), but the Maverick in Mexico was called the Maverick Falcon, and carried both Maverick and Falcon badges, with the Falcon badge in the grille and 289 emblems. (horns were tabboo in Mexico). i guess the gas cap would have the falcon logo too. In the Maverick Preliminary Manual I have it shows the fender and grille badges with the falcon logo and it looks like it says 289. I am guessing this is what they looked like. I'll try to get a scan soon. -CP

: My friend went on a trip to Mexico and took some pictures of Mavericks and a Comet.
: Two of the Maverick pictures have a Falcon name plate and one has a 289 badge on it.
: Anyone know if Mavericks were once called Falcons or did someone just add the name plate and did they ever come with a 289?

: Also, Robert Martn sent me another drawing from his Maverick art which I put in the photo gallery.
