I know some of the early Maverick 6-cyl cars had different shock towers than the V-8 cars, but at some point they were all the same. Not sure what years, but I am sure a 1976 would have the same shock towers.

I had a 1972 Grabber with a 351W. I bought it that way. It appeared that the previous owner had "beat" the shock towers in a hair to make everything fit.

: Some guys on this board have done the swap, they can be more specific, but basically it is a simple bolt in. The 302 mounts are used. The 351W has a taller deck height, which makes it wider, so clearances are tight for the shock-tower area. This makes changing plugs and fitting headers difficult (it'd be easier with a 6-cyl car, because V8's have extra material on the shock towers). -CP

: : i read the previous posts about the swap to a 351c. how much atlerations need to be made to swap a 302 for a 351w. bye the way it's a '76 maverick 2 door.
: : thanks
