Tire question for the Mav races out there

Okay...hoping to start doing a little Friday night racing with my Mav. I have some 235-14s as spare street tires. I was wondering what size slicks I should consider. I don't even know if I need slicks or not. It runs great on street tires. I've just never been down the drag strip yet.
