Why doesn't my car move??

I was just wondering, I have an auto 73 mav and was wondering if it was
normal that when stopped at a light or waiting to turn (even on flat
ground) if I take my foot off the brake the car does not roll forward
like most cars that I have driven? Is this normal? If not what could it
be? Thanks
