: i figure something is screwed, i put my 3' breaker bar on one of my cheap sockets (so if it breaks, no big deal) and turned to the point where the socket was ready to snap...no movement. Of course, the torque converter was spinning freely (and it's the correct one) when i had the transmission out, and the whole assembly was able to spin when i originally took it out (i had a blown piston in the transmission, which is why i pulled it). So...i guess i'm in trouble :o/

: Here are a few things to think about, did you make sure the convertor was seated into the pump? You should have about a 1/16 to 1/4 inch space between the convertor and flex plate when trans is bolted to block. Then pull it up to flex plate with bolts or nuts which ever yours has. Did you use the block to bellhousing spacer plate? Also if you had flexplate off did you use original bolts and spacer?, sometimes have found bolts hitting block, too long etc. Take out convertor attaching bolts, and see if engine turns. You should be able to see flex plate bolts protruding through crankshaft from underneath. Just try to use a process of elimination to pin point the problem to the trans or the engine. Pull spark plugs also to relieve compression and look for water or oil on top of pistons which would cause a "Hydro" condition. I don't think its in the trans itself but wierd things do happen. Let us know the results of your findings.
