(This is quoted from HP Ford parts interchange book)
The Autolite 4100 series 4 bbl. is an outstanding piece- easy to tune,
reliable, and offers good performance. This carb was used on 289- 4V
and Hi Po engines from 63-66, and 67 only on the hi po. The 67 289 engine
was equipted with the Autolite 4300. (end quote).
Pony carbs has ready to run Autolite 4100s but they are EXPENSIVE. I mean
really EXPENSIVE. 219.50 if you have a good core, but the really good
version they have (if you don't have a core) is almost 600 without shipping.
Ouch. I have 3 Autolite 4100s and counting (not for sale). I have yet
to try any of them as I don't want to use a generic parts house kit in any
of them. I have time. For you, if may be worth your time to find a 1.08
version (480 cfm). Right now I'm just using a sorted out Holley 4160
(vacuum secondaries) on a Weiand Action + intake. Milage has dropped over
my Motorcraft 2 bbl. but it does run a lot better (still idols rough).
I'm figuring on using one of my Autolites on the street and using my
holley for the brackets as it is set up to tune quickly now. Holleys have
lots of shit you can do to them, I mean lots. End of essay.
