Off the top of my head they look like average prices, but if you know the brands and part#'s you can easily check the internet to be sure, or even call Summit or Jegs. That's the best way to compare, remember to ask about shipping too.
You can probably do everything yourself (MSD stuff comes with good instructions), but if you are unsure then have them install the MSD box and electronic distributor and put the cap, rotor, plugs, wires, & coil on yourself. They're easy and you'd probably save about $60 just doing those. -CP

: Okay, i went to a shop in town that does a bunch of "hot rodding" to cars shall we say. i told the guy that i needed to do a tune up and i wanted to make it a "high performance one". i said like wires, plugs, dist, cap, starter, all that. he gave me a estimate for a bunch of stuff. is it a fair estimate though?
: Cap+Rotor = $25
: Elec. Dist = 120
: MSD Box = 145 w/rev limiter $185
: Starter Coil (MSD) = $35
: Wires/Plugs (MSD) = $65

: This is just a quote for the prices. I don't know if this is stuff that i with my limited knowledge can do in my garage or if I should just have them do it because they know the stuff? What do you all think? are the prices fair? Would it be best to have them do it? i want my mav to run the best i can and i know that it will take a while, but i gotta start somewhere so i figure this is the best place to start. Oh, and if you need to know my mav is 74 4door 302.... THANKS GUYS!
: Jason
