Shackle kit

I swapped '75 Comet rear springs into my '70 Mav, and found that the frame
shackle is about 1/2" longer, and leaves a 1/2" gap from the frame to the
shackle. Do any of you have a solution, besides new springs? Any help would
be appreciated. earlb
