It's not so much how "loud" they are as much as the actual tone...The 2-chamber units have a real harsh annoying sound to them with more high frequencys (hence the "tin can" description) rather than a deep throaty rumble (which is what I like). Ultimately, it all comes down to personal preference. If you are a racer, then flow & performance is more important than sound. Personally; I'm willing to compromise a little for street use, to get good sound as well as performance...
