: It's not so much how "loud" they are as much as the actual tone...The 2-chamber units have a real harsh annoying sound to them with more high frequencys (hence the "tin can" description) rather than a deep throaty rumble (which is what I like). Ultimately, it all comes down to personal preference. If you are a racer, then flow & performance is more important than sound. Personally; I'm willing to compromise a little for street use, to get good sound as well as performance...

: : : : Having duals put on as I write this, just wonder what the going rate is in Your neck of the woods,My bill is $360.00,that's for a 71 302.
: : : : Thanks Tom

: : : I just had dual exhaust with two chamber Flowmasters installed in San Diego I paid $390.00 out the door sounded great even with the two dead cylinders I am repairing now.

: : So how annoyingly loud are they??? I have been considering two chambers, but have nothing to go by on sound. Just what the Flowmaster catalog shows for sound quality. What size pipe did you go with, and what inlet/outlet?

: : Thanks!!!

Don't have anything to go by. When DAB and I go to the car show on Saturday nights there are guys with Flowmasters, but they also have HUGE big blocks, and we all know that big blocks sound different than small blocks. I have heard some Flowmasters on a Mustang at the red light, but couldn't ask the guy if they were 2 or 3 chambers. Guess I need to do a little more searching to make sure I don't get anything TOO noisy!
