: I dont have a tube strait to the carb. (I'm blonde, but not that blonde) To dangerous, what with bugs, rocks, and rain. I was just wondering. Is that how it is supposed to be done, running a tube to the air intake before the filter or do I buy something that replaces the airfilter, like maybe a horizontal filter that the scoop would blow on. I imagine that would get the most fresh air to the carb. This probobly sounds stupid but I'm still learning. Also would it be better to have the opening forward, toward the wind, or back toward the windshield. Someone was talking about there being negative pressure somewhere on the hood and then there is the pressure around the windshield.

: Thanks

: BTW. All it takes to get women in a mav is a smile :o)

:: Rudy, the scoop turned to the wind sheild is best. Rikyracer was right about the cowl induction type scoop like chevy used. Any type functional scoop is better than no scoop. If you can invision your air cleaner with the top off and the filter sitting there put a top on that covers only the filter its self. Now you would have the bottom part of your air cleaner sticking out further than the top. Put a foam seal around the part sticking out so that it touches the hood when its closed. Cut a hole in the hood directly over this seal and you have cold air indution to your carb when the hood is closed. You can put the scoop over the hole and turn it in any direction you want to. I've got a Capri RS scoop on mine. By the way, I dated my wife in a Mav so be careful!LOL. Bill
