: : : not really, when it comes to cams and carbs it's always better to start with a "milder" looking one. There is to many influenceing components that will effect the engine's power, ie, valve size, comp., head design, header size and length, trans type, torque conv. size, tire size, gear ratio, car weight, where in the country you are, (weather, altitude), etc. Then there is the "intended" usage. Street use always go smaller or they become a pig. Racing? whole new ball game.

: : : : : : I'm rebuilding a Falcon for a friend that doesn't have much money, can you explain a little bit more that FAMOS 302/289 trick ( conrods ) & in such case what kind of camshaft would you suggest for that 302 with 289 conrods ,the car has a 4s Manual transmision 8" rear end & he already bought a Weiand Excelerator intake manifold, a holley performer 600 & some headers ?
