I've had the Intake for about 16years now so I'm stuck with it until I have the money to replace it. I have enough for the cam now so I want to change it first then the I'll look into manifolds, But I've heard good things about the air gap and the Weiand. Both sound like they are huge improvements on the 289performer. BTW I found and article in the June Mustang Mounthly on 347 Stroker Kits from a company called Coast High Performance @ www.coasthigh.com and www.347streetfighter.com. They stroked an '85 5.0 roller block to 347 in the article. I have and '85 5.0 roller block that I was thinking of doing the same thing to, maybe I should just save the cash and put it into the roller motor????? What do you think??? The late model 351 valve covers look the best but you'll have to drill and tap a hole in the drivers side one to hook up the crank case breather system. other wise Ford Motorsports has a bunch of different types in their catalog.
: Don't know on the cam selection, but if you find something out, please let me know!!! If I were you, unless you already have the Intake, I'd go with either the Air-gap, RPM, or I've heard good things about the Weiand someething or other. I personally plan to swap my 289 performer to the Air-gap, and also go with roller rockers. Just need to find the money, and figure out which valve covers to go with. If you find a good set of tall 351 valve covers, PLEASE let me know!
