: ...I don't have any experience with the RBS, but the YF is a very simple carb. It's also just one tick short of a POS. If I were you I would look into getting a 2bbl & adapter. It's not very expensive & will give you more economy and power (especially beyond 3000rpm) ;-)
Actually, I'm replacing the RBS with a YF due to Drivability and hard cold start problems.
I tried to get the car to run over the weekend so I can move it into the garage. I was able to
start it fine and get it running for about a a minute or so on highstep. It then proceded to die
like somebody turned the key off, no stumble, pop, etc. After that it would fire, run for 2 sec
and then die. I then hooked up a remote starter switch to the solenoid and started it, while
hand choking the engine, it then ran and would start to die, so I would hand choke it again
while running for about a sec and let go (my hand was soaking wet with gas) and proceded
to do this for about 5 min until it ran steadily without dying.
I already checked the fuel pump pressure and filter and the choke seems to be adjusted
okay and I fooled with the carb idle mixture etc. and no improvement.
