The 302 is the least hassle for the performance...You will have to modify the spring towers or you will not be able to change spark plugs...Drum brakes absolutely SUCK (kinda like Pintos but we won't go there) on the front...They are "ok" for the rear...

: In considering my engine swap, is there a tube type header that I can use with a 351W that will fit in my 73 four door without chopping the shock towers?

: Weight:

: From http/triumph.cs.utah.edu/tech/engine.html I have found the following:

: FORD 170-250 weight = 385 pounds (what I have now)
: 289-302 weight = 460 pounds (+75)
: 352 Windsor weight = 510 pounds (+125pounds)

: Not to mention the extra weight in the cooling system, I'll bet I could use new springs.

: Any suggestions?

: Can I get away with the drum brakes? Does anybody make good metalic shoes like those that LAKEWOOD made in the 70's.

: Thanks
