water pump for PS removal on a V8

Charlie said a 90 Crown Vic water pump will work, is the 88 the same?
can't get a 90 in cast iron, I can get the 88, just want to make sure the dimensions are the same to allow my alt belt to pull the water pump.
had to ask just in case I can't get in touch with Charlie before he leaves...
