They ARE the SAME and you DO NOT have to change it if you don't want to...it was not until '75 that they switched to an actual proportioning valve on Mavericks...The whole purpose for the prop-valve is to reduce REAR wheel lockup. Just re-flare (double flare) the ends of the short lines that go from the junction block to the master cylinder because the fittings are a different size on the disc brake master cyl.


: I put my front disc. brakes on today gentleman, and I have a question.
: I got all of my stuff off a 74 Mav. and put it on my 71. I'm down to the master cylinder,and the junction block. I got to looking at the junction block and they are the same block I think. The only thing I can see any differant is the one on the 71 is laid on it's side,where the 74 stood straight up. So do I need to change it ???
