I checked the block plates and then remembered why we had to switch bellhousings. The block pattern is the same, but the starter locations were different. On our 302, the starter wouldn't bolt up to the 250's location on the bellhousing.
It's going to take awhile to dig out the block, so I still don't have the casting number. But, I do know for sure that it is the origional motor.
