Higher timing = Higher temps, but I don't think that is your problem. At 75-80 you should be getting plenty of air through the radiator, so I don't think its your fan.

You should never run hotter than your thermostat temp, period. I run at 195 all the time because I run a 195 thermostat. If it runs hotter than the thermo temp then you have a cooling problem. 230 is way too hot. I'd suggest getting a Motorcraft thermostat first. I ran a stant and a gates and they never worked as well as the OEM ford unit. -CP


: overheating problem is still here, 180* stat, 3 row radiator, just been redone, timing as high as I can go with no pinging and it runs cooler, but still hits 230* running about 75-80mph @ 2000rpms.
: what temp does everyone run on the interstate and what temp does the stock idiot light come on at?
