unfortunately I know of no replacement for factory standard towers. The spot welds are old and a good place for rust to start. I know on mine, I found a 1" crack starting on the right tower. I completely rewelded both shock towers while I had the engine out. I have seen/done a coil over conversion on one, once, kit was to $$$$$$. It puts the spring/shock onto the lower arm and removes the bulk of the shock tower.
: I hit the brakes hard on my '72 302 Grabber to keep from slamming into an errant Volvo and the left shock tower split near the upper a-arm mount.
: Apparently a common problem for V8 Mavericks and Mustangs.
: As a word of advice, it is WAY cheaper to weld reinforcements BEFORE it breaks.
