not only can it leak that bad, it has a vaccuum on it the same has the intake manifold does. So it not only leaks but the oil gets sucked down it. Pull the valve cover, and take a look at it. If you have a spring compressor for installed heads, pull the spring and check the valve for wobble. Just another thing to check before pulling the engine apart to far.

: I now have a little more info on my problem, the symptoms at least. After changing the plug in the No.8 cylinder, it still idles the same wheather the plug wire is on the distributor or not. However, once you drive her, she runs pretty good...for about 30-35 miles then the dead miss comes back. Pull the plug again and you can't hardly tell the electrode from the center conductor. Real UGLY.

: So, is it possible for a valve guide to leak that bad?
