to replace the rod bolts, properly, They have to be pressed out and pressed in. If you try and hammer them out/in you run the change of cracking/breaking the rod. Don't do it that way. And as for breaking the seal, what seal. There is no seal and they only fit on one way, correctly, and they are very snug so as to not allow being misaligned. Just make sure they're numbered so you don't mix them up. Can't do that or it'll bind up. Each rod and cap are matched only to themself.
As for the bell housing bolts. You probably are the first one to touch them and they take a set after being there so long. A trick, get you two bolts about 3" long that are the same size and cut the head off to use as starter douls. Makes it easier mating it back together.

: I bought a set of ARP wavelock conrod bolts to install in my 5.0 before I swap it in. RIght now I have the engine on the stand, valve covers and oilpan off. Will it be ok if I just unbolt each cap one at a time and replace the stock bolts with the ARP ones, and just retorque???
: A guy told me that once I break that seal, I'll have problems, any

truth to that?
: The heads are still on, I have no need to remove them, the engine is in great shape being a '95 with only 45,000miles.
: Anothet thing... I pulled the 250 yesterday and had a very hard time getting out some of the bellhousing to engine bolts. Is it going to be hell again when it's time to go back up? Any tricks for this?
: thanks,
