77 engine change

I'm showing an engine light upon startup? I have installed mechanical oil,and temperature gauges, oil pressure is 80lbs, water temp.. ok.I left idiot lights hooked up also.didn.t have this problem until engine change, what can I check to find or correct problems? any ideas? is there something I have to reset?
