We fit 12 X 28 slicks under our Mav by just having to narrow the 9" rear slightly. No cutting of the quarters or trunk was necessary. The 30 you will probably have a problem with because the front edge of the rear wheel wells curves back in slightly at the bottom. So towards the end of the track when the slicks grow you will probably get some serious rubbing, even if you manage to get them to fit under the car while it sits.
