what do the spark plugs look like? And are they all the same coloration? Is it one cylinder or all the plugs look bad? Vaccuum gage readings and comp test on all cylinders? more data please. Use a small water spray bottle on the exhaust manifold after it's ran for a few minutes and while running, squirt a small stream of water on each manifold pipe at the head and look for the steam. Should be the same at all outlets or a weak cly. will not burn of the water as fast as the others.
: Thanks Johnnymaverick for the tip on the modulator valve... was definitely worth a shot before I got to pulling the engine apart. Sorry to say that it seems that wasn't it though. I just took the vaccuum line off and plugged it then ran the car for a bit with it like that... didn't seem to be much if any difference. Still smokes and still misses. Oh well. Back to the drawing board. Maybe I'll just order that crate 5.0 and get it over with ...
