Thanks Johnnymaverick for the tip on the modulator valve... was definitely worth a shot before I got to pulling the engine apart. Sorry to say that it seems that wasn't it though. I just took the vaccuum line off and plugged it then ran the car for a bit with it like that... didn't seem to be much if any difference. Still smokes and still misses. Oh well. Back to the drawing board. Maybe I'll just order that crate 5.0 and get it over with ...
