it's a 74 part, it's the master plug in for the steering column. All your ignition and power plug ins go thru there, Sounds like it started to melt, probably corrosion that what made the lights go on then it melted all together so as to make the other curcuits. You have to get a replacement male/female plug and rewire it.


: A friend of my was driving home on Thursday and the seat belt light and buzzer came on then went off. Smoke started coming out from under the dash the car would not shut off and the starter started spining. He had to disconnect the battery to get everything to stop. The part that burnt is loctated at the base of the steering colunm. the motorcraft part number on the box is D4AB 14A554 Can someone please tell me what this part is?
