Sounds to me like the TQ has slid foward while installing the trans.Reseat the TQ, tighten the bellhousing bolts.Then run a TQ nut down a few threads,slide a prybar or flathead screwdriver under the nut and pull the TQ up snug to the flexplate.Then run the nut down, but don't torque it yet.This next step is important,turn the TQ 180degs. to the next stud, and repeat the steps above.After doing this and your sure the TQ is pulled up as far as it will go,then you can torque all the nuts down.This is how,or should be how all good R&R men in the trans. business do this on ALL cars.Hope this helped,Arnie.
