Other motor that may fit

I was at the local u-pull-it today and didn't find a single ford inline 6 so I was wondering, what other engines would go into a comet without TOO much trouble? There were a several monarchs with v-6s and I even ran across a thunderbird with the turbocharged 4. Would either of these work in a comet?
