After having gone to the time, effort and expense of purchasing a rebuild kit THEN finding out I could have bought a rebuilt one for under 90 bucks, I'd recommend just buying one. If you have a Discount Auto Parts store in your area, check with them. Mine was a 74 Comet so it might have been different. The complete rebuild kit was around 45 if I remember but it was a PITA actually doing it.
