the heads you bought are '71 model heads. I agree with rickyracer, there are no such things as 302 high performance heads.
A word of advise, dont waste the time and money on factory 302 heads. I've already done that, and speaking from experience, it costs
just as much to make the factory heads work well as it does to buy a "cheap" set of aftermarket heads. I spent almost $1100 on a set of
factory heads several years ago, porting, valves, studs, guideplates, the usual. Just recently I purchased a set of #6025 edelbrocks for
my mav, and the car picked up .7 second at the dragstrip. Not to mention that the engine now uses less fuel, runs smoother,and has a lot more
bottom end torque. Also, it doesn't run near as hot as it did w/ the iron heads. They cost me $1100, but it was well worth it, believe me.
